We visited as a couple for a short getaway and found exactly the breath of fresh air we needed. The room was very clean and comfortable, the owner was warm and attentive, and breakfast was beautifully prepared with every detail considered by the owner, Sally. A special thanks to the chef for the delicious omelette. The overall atmosphere was peaceful and perfect for unwinding together. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quiet couple’s break.
Spent my 50th birthday here and just wanted to relax. Sally and Douglas were great hosts nothing too much trouble but also not intrusive. The house is wonderful and breakfast absolutely lovely. If you want a nice place to stay with no stress this is the place, me and my partner will be back.
Lovely old house with some good views. Nicely hidden away down a long country lane. Greeted by the owner on arrival, very friendly and helpful lady. Showed us to our room, gave us all the info we needed. Room was comfortable and had all you needed. Next morning the breakfast was superb, all freshly cooked. Just how a guest house/ b&b should be. Top marks from me, thank you.

Lovely location with beautiful country garden popular with butterflies and an interesting church at the end of the lane. Excellent room but the ensuite was a little compact for our particular needs. The house is beautifully decorated with country rope handrail, classical furniture, and oak beams. The breakfast provided included a full English, with alternatives, lots of excellent fresh fruit and some cereal on offer. Sally and Douglas and the staff were all very helpful. Sally went above and beyond to assist us where required. Very friendly people met all around the vicinity including the lovely village of Herstmonceux and the White Horse Inn for meals and refreshments. This was the perfect location for visitors who want to experience staying in a traditional large country cottage still in easy reach of the coast.
It is a beautiful location and a lovely place with bags of character. It is in a very quiet lane of the main road and fields behind it. The owner couldn't do enough to make our stay and breakfast as we wanted it. It's definitely worth the money. Use a taxi the owner recommends. As we had one in the last photo, who was the most rude and miserable ever. Never use them. We were a little late coming about from a funeral wake, so we're a little delayed saying goodbyes.
